In cases of expired certificates I often add an exception, most (all?) browsers allow you to do that, since I prefer to have a secure connection, rather than wide open plain text, with the server, it prevents eaves dropping by every router from me to the server. I find the whole certificate expiration thing a cash grab personally by certificate authorities 🙂 If the reason is anything else for the cert being not valid I don’t tend to add exceptions though.

You have been able to get free certificates from Let’s Encrypt for quite a while now.

I still do not think expiration should be a thing that is forced on website/server owners, let it be a choice, and instead fix the revocation system 🙂

Just a heads-up for anyone interested, who may not know already. RU is down again! And this time it’s not a 404! It’s saying “ACCOUNT SUSPENDED”! That doesn’t sound good.

Hi Everyone,

So regarding Ravishu and Kristensboard being in a suspended mode…
Unfortunately, the news isn’t good but also isn’t terminal. As you may or may not know, while Ravishu set a policy whereby characters in stories needed to be 18+ KB kept the age at 13+. During the first week of February this was brought to the attention of the hosting site and a letter was sent to Lois informing her that this was not acceptable. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Lois didn’t respond and after a week both sites were suspended, even though it was admitted by the hosting company that RU wasn’t in violation. Unfortunately, both sites are tied to one account so when KB was suspended RU was also suspended.

I’ve made several attempts to contact Lois and unfortunately she hasn’t responded. I don’t know what this means and I’m not going to read any further into her absence. There are many reasons why one might not read their email.

I will continue in my attempts to contact Lois and I do hope that the situation can be resolved.

I’ll post here if/when I find out more information.
