How much tagging is good?

First of all thank you to the people who have put this together, the site looks great.

Now to my question, as the site relies heavily on tagging some of my problems with it come back. I find it very challenging of applying appropriate tags to my stories without them turning into spoilers. It will take a while of getting the hang of it. How do other authors feel about that?

As DarkArchon1980 said, tags are used to categorize your posts into the appropriate places to make it easier to both find or avoid content. I understand your point about spoilers - but it's nice for someone who has an aversion to, say....scat or piss (i.e. urinating on your victim in a story) to have a heads up that they may want to pass on reading a story.

Likewise, a member who likes to read celebrity non-con can easily find content by clicking on the "celebrity" tag.

I've seen numerous examples of a reader noping out of a story or being pulled out of the fantasy world you've created due to the sudden introduction of elements they aren't a fan of. Not a perfect system, agreed but our authors are so creative ( ❤️ you all) there are usually surprises, twists and turns regardless 😀

Hey @Shocker welcome to The Black Van . The tags just help organize your stories and make it easier to find your work. It also helps to avoid stories that aren't your cup of tea.

Enchantress DarkArchon1980 thank you for both your feedback, as I said it’s something to get used to, I just love to spring my surprises on my readers.
Admittedly i have gotten the negative surprises as well, when i sprung the sister as unknown rape victim. I hadn’t even thought about it as incest, until somebody was pointing it out. I wanted a guy behave like a total asshole, to be then crushed when he found out he did that to hus sister.
Tagging something like that would be actually important to do, but it would also ruin the main concept of the story.

I’m sure i will come to grips with it.
