Hello everyone and I hope you are all well. We will be tweaking the tag system at some point (time frame undetermined right now) and we thought it best that everyone gets to take a peek before it happens.
When RC went down, our forum was still very much in the testing phase. There were a lot of things that were working well, and some that weren’t. The tagging system was new for us too - we were trying to figure out the best way to set up navigation; to allow people to see the things they wanted to see, and bypass the things they didn’t. We created a wealth of tags for every scenario, yum and yuck we could think of toward that goal.
The system was put to the test, sooner than we anticipated. Now that we’ve seen it in action, how members are using them, what gets used and what doesn’t; there are some changes that need to be made to make posting easier for everyone.
First off, the basic way you’ve learned to tag things is not going to change. Stories will go in Fiction, games posts will go in Games. Media will be separated out from Fantasy Meta and will get its own primary tag. The major change will be the removal of a large number of secondary tags - a lot of the ones to be removed are redundant and implicit for stories found in a BDSM/Non-con forum. The ones being kept, such and Snuff, Incest and Medical, include themes that may be hard limits for readers.
Overall, tag options for a story will be reduced to just one, or possibly two or three if you’ve written a particularly violent tale, or written something included in one of the specialty categories we’ve saved such as Celebrity, Gang Bang, Magical/Supernatural, etc…
These changes will simplify finding desired content for a visitor, and reduce the burden placed on the writers, librarians and moderators to make sure a post or story is tagged correctly. It will also make learning the system a bit less confusing for new members.
We will be conducting some tests to ensure that existing posts are disturbed as little as possible after the transition. It is likely that some posts will need to be re-tagged or moved and it may take a bit of time to go through all of them. The pain should be brief, and in the end will make the forum much easier to navigate and use.
What follows is the new general outline of primary tags (Forums) and secondary tags (Subforums).

As an example - if I want to post a GIF of a slave girl getting whipped by her Master, I select the Media primary tag, followed by the Pictures and GIF’s and BDSM secondary tags. If the GIF I want to share shows the abduction of a lovely young lady, I’d use the Media primary tag, followed by the Pictures and GIF’s and Non-con tags.
