It’s that time of the month again, the first day of March which means, anong other things, it’s time for new cotest prompts. This time, @Vela_Nanashi has chosen the following words.

-Crucible

-Release

-Ascending

I am curious to see what people come up with, though I feel the word count is going to be very difficult, for me at least.

Entries must be submitted by midnight on March 31st.

Enchantress technically speaking, if submissions are allowed throughout the day of March 31st, the deadline is either 23:59 March 31st, or Midnight April 1st. It’s today until 23:59:59, then it’s the first second of tomorrow. 😁

RapeU I simply have to ask are you related to Brandon Sanderson? Writing high Quality stories in barely any time?

Not that I know of. This one actually took a little more time to figure out than it appears. I muddled through several possibilities until I happened to stumble on the fact that there exists a play called The Crucible. From there the simple plot was born.

It also probably helps that I have a commute of about an hour to the school I teach at. So two hours of my day I’m driving and can think of some stuff in my head while listening to music.

RapeU just saves me the hassle of reading the play, as that play had been my first idea also. So when I saw your title I made the assumption you went that route.

It won’t bother me if you use the play idea. There’s multiple possibilities that exist in which an actress, a stagehand, or even a member of the audience watching the play could become the victim of unfortunate circumstances.

RapeU Don’t worry if I had fully committed to the idea I would have used it. At the end of the day that is why I have to refrain from reading your story or any other contest entries before posting my own. I don’t want to suspect myself of taking the excellent ideas of others and subconsciously put them in my stories, I’m a bit odd that way.
But now there are two stories I’m eager to read and can’t.
